Unless you live under a rock buried under a mountain, you likely have heard the Kansas City Chiefs are heading for their third consecutive Super Bowl after defeating the Buffalo Bills in a tough and hard-fought victory. Kansas City was already embracing the hate as they won games and advanced into the playoffs, and its fans are ready to become the most hated sports team since the Patriots were dominating.
The game itself was replete with the usual sports drama. Controversial referee calls, back and forth scoring, and superstar quarterback play on both ends of the field. At the end of the day, though, TV commercial superstars Patrick Maholmes and Andy Reid were too much yet again for the Josh Allen-led Buffalo Bills to overcome. Most of sports radio and television over the last week have discussed whether the Chiefs have taken the mantle of America’s Most Hated team, and fans like cafe-aulait on the r/kansascity page are embracing the title with gusto.

You can tell KC is getting a bit jaded with football success. I only heard one burst of celebratory gunfire in my neighborhood.
Suffice it to say the New York Yankees, Red Sox, Patriots, and Lakers are all taking a backseat to the Kansas City Chiefs and what they are on the verge of accomplishing. Nobody has ever gone to three Super Bowls consecutively, and if they win, I fully expect national hate of the Chiefs and the lucky calls their quarterback earns to ratchet up to match the history they have a chance to achieve.
