What would be your reaction when a family member decides to drop off their kids at your place without any warning? Imagine being at work and they just leave their children in front of your house, expecting you to somehow telepathically know that they are there. Well, a Kansas City woman did find herself pushed into a corner she didn’t want to be in when her sister’s children were suddenly dropped off at her home without anybody informing her beforehand.

The woman wasn’t even supposed to be at home but, by chance, had taken the night off from her part-time job at a restaurant. While sitting in her car, she saw her sister’s ex pull up in front of her house and let the children out. The kids’ father never bothered to knock or call to check if she was home. Instead, he circled the block once before speeding off. Although she was frustrated that this had happened several times before, the woman still got out to welcome her niece and nephew.

More on What Happened

When she later messaged her sister and the children’s father to come and pick up their kids, neither responded properly. The woman warned that she would call the police if her sister did not come get them, to which the sister replied, “please do. Thank you.” The response was basically daring her to call, so she dialed 911 immediately and gave a full report of what had happened. Shortly afterward, the father began sending angry texts accusing her of reporting them to Child Protective Services. The sister also texted that she was on her way to pick up the kids and questioned why she had to involve the police (the irony).

When the sister finally arrived, things turned ugly. The moment she stepped into the house, she spat on the aunt’s face. In response, the aunt threw hot lemon water from her Stanley cup at her, prompting her sister to run outside and jump into an Uber to get away. After the sister fled, the police arrived to follow up on the initial call. When they asked whether she wanted to press charges for the assault, the woman agreed, explaining that she wanted her sister to face consequences in the proper way. There is now a warrant out for her sister’s arrest.

What if you had been out and left your car at home?” one person asked. Another said in disbelief, “I’m trying to figure out the mental gymnastics they did to make this your fault!”
