A couple in Kansas is dealing with an unsettling situation, and it’s even impacting their income. A mother reveals that she and her partner’s son have been thrust into a major drama that involves the child’s father and his boss. The crisis sounds like it comes from the plot of a scary movie or a mystery novel. However, it’s real life for these midwestern parents, and things are starting to get scary.
The Kansas mother took her dilemma to Reddit to ask for advice. She says that her partner’s boss recently began dating a new woman. After the girlfriend met the couple’s son, she was instantly taken with him. However, things crossed the line when the boss’ girlfriend began to refer to the couple’s child as her own son, and even threatened to take him without permission.
“She keeps claiming my son as hers after being asked to stop twice by my partner and now once by me. This woman had even threatened to come get my son, whether we gave her permission or not, all because we didn’t want to go to a 4th of July dinner. Now, she is threatening to call child services all because I told her to stop calling my son hers and stop trying to come get him without permission, or I would take legal action,” the concerned mother wrote.
Kansas Couple Worry For The Safety Of Their Son When Boss’ Girlfriend Becomes Obsessed
The thing she is threatening to report is me sitting in a vehicle with my son while he slept for less than an hour and we weren’t even in the vehicle the whole time we went and walked around the outside of the vehicle and sat in the shade plus she wasn’t even there when this happened.
Things went from bad to worse when she later updated the post, revealing that she and the boy’s father had decided to take legal action. They called the police and hired a lawyer so that they could weigh their options and get a protection order. As for the man’s job, it seems he was forced to leave the company due to the awkward and scary interactions.
“As for my partner and his job he will be starting his new job Monday, so Saturday will be his last day dealing with this woman and his boss. She will have no reason to be around, so if she does come around we will call the cops,” she reported.
Of course, those on Reddit strongly encouraged the couple to stick with the pursuit of legal consequences, as their son’s safety could be in jeopardy.
“You may need to file a police report to get this to stop- she’s threatening / threatened to KIDNAP YOUR CHILD,” one person put it bluntly.
“Stop her by calling the police. Women who kidnap children exhibit these types of behaviors. Say nothing to anyone-just go do it,” agreed another.
The Kansas parents seemed to do the right thing, even though it must have been hard for them to stand up against the man’s boss. However, they were forced to do what was right for their son. Hopefully, the matter has been put to rest, and they can move on without fear.
