Recently, Kanye West‘s Carnival hit the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 position. However, the rapper celebrated the milestone most unconventionally. Instead of basking in the glory of his success, the rap icon addressed some long-standing grievances. Taking to social media, Ye called out some major players in his life, including Adidas, Hailey Bieber, and Drake. As expected, Kanye West’s rant ignited a wave of mixed reactions from fans.
Kanye West’s Reaches Billboard No. 1 Position
Ye made history as Carnival dethroned Beyonce’s Texas Hold ‘Em from the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The track, cut from the singer’s Vultures 1 album with Ty Dolla $ign, also featured Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid. Ye took to Instagram on Monday with a profanity-laced rant to celebrate the feat. He began by dedicating the milestone to his collaborators and supporters.
“Rich Ty Carti and the supporters that stood by us through everything This number #1 is for you it’s for the people who won’t be manipulated by the system,” he wrote.
Ye then went ahead to release a barrage of insults from fashion houses to international media outlets and big entertainment figures. First on the list was Adidas, with Ye emphasizing his unwavering disdain for the sportswear brand.
“F**k adidas and everybody who works there or with them Anyone who goes to school with anyone who’s parents work at adidas Just know they tried to destroy me and here we are with the number 1 song in the world.”
The Yeezy mogul slammed Daily Mail and fashion houses that sided with Gabby and Hailey Bieber. The rapper didn’t forget Drake, whom he called out for taking “Lil Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role out.” Ye ended his missive by noting that he’d be back if he came up with more people to call out.
Kanye West Bashes Adidas
Following Kanye West’s rant, he shared two more posts on his Instagram stories. In the deleted posts, Ye had more words for his former partner, Adidas. He accused the brand of stealing his ideas, dismantling his creative team, and making fake colorways.
“Then you paid off my lawyers while I was with you. Then you dropped me on a morality clause even though y’all was the ones stealing my designs…Y’all using my name in 2024. Y’all doing this,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, fans are still proud of Ye’s recent achievement despite the rant. Kanye West’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 position marks his first No. 1 in 13 years.
