Kanye West aims his ex-wife Kim Kardashian (and their kids) in a recent interview with DJ Akademiks just weeks after targeting hip-hop royalties Jay-Z and Beyonce’s family. The rapper has been the subject of controversial headlines lately, with his unconventional fashion choices, X rants, antisemitism rows, and his self-proffessed Nazi affiliation. He had one of his most disparaging meltdowns yet earlier this month, when he took a swipe at Jay-Z’s 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, questioning their mental capacity and slamming their births via artificial insemination.
The hip-hop mogul deleted and later reshared the unprovoked rant with more disgusting remarks about the children, clarifying he initially took down the post, not because he had a change of perspective, but because of fears that X might cancel his account as a result. Two weeks after the offensive dig at the 7-year-olds, West, 47, is aiming the dagger at his children via a shocking remark about his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
Kanye West Says He Regrets Having Kids With Kim
Granting an interview with DJ Akademiks, the rapper attempted to debunk the idea that he “picked” Kardashian and put himself in the situation he now finds himself in amid their parental dispute. The rapper, who graced the interview in an all-black outfit representing the hate group Ku Klux Klan, complete with the pointed hood, acknowledged that while he did pick Kardashian, and faulted himself for it, starting a family with her was “God’s plan.” He admitted,
“I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with them, but that wasn’t God’s plan.”
Kanye West’s remarks about his kids in the disgraceful interview have earned him backlash across the media. Many slammed the I Wonder crooner for not caring “about his kids in the slightest,” and proceeding to make his “disgusting” comments despite knowing the little ones would get to see the interview someday. One fan called out West’s behavior as “narcissistic,” and proof that he only views his kids as his “possession,” and an extension of himself. An enraged fan on Reddit added,
“He does the same thing every narcissist with kids does: pretend like their kids are the most important thing ever, but then actively behave at their expense.”
Another commented,
“I feel so dang bad for the kids. They don’t deserve it.”
Another added sarcastically, “And that’s why I went to have 3 more kids with her,” while a third fan chipped in, “With surrogates!!! ‘God’s plan.'” Many also tagged the controversial hip-hop star a ” liar,” simply trying to demean his ex.
West’s Anti-Abortion Rants Return to Haunt Him
As fans raged on, some were quick to call West’s bluff about never wanting kids with The Kardashians star, citing his anti-abortion rant in 2020 where the rapper admitted he and his then-girlfriend considered aborting their baby when she first fell pregnant with North. The rapper admitted at the time that he eventually convinced the beauty mogul against it following a revelation from God. One fan recalled another instance of the duo publicly airing their familial matters years back, with West insisting he “wanted more children” after his then-wife developed severe complications following the birth of her two oldest kids. To that, another Redditor responded,
“Always contradicting himself.”
Meanwhile, many netizens were convinced Kanye West just shot himself on the leg with his comments about regretting having his kids, which would most certainly work against him in the case of any future custody disputes with Kim Kardashian.
Kardashian and West’s Parental Dispute
Kardashian and West welcomed their daughter, North Kardashian, in June 2013, two years after gearing off their romance. The two tied the knot in May 2014, and went on to have three more kids, including daughters Chicago, 7, and sons Saint and Psalm, aged 9 and 5, respectively. The exes had their two youngest kids via surrogate. Kardashian and West reached a joint custody agreement after their divorce, a decision the SKIMS founder reportedly regrets in the wake of their latest dispute over their daughter, North West.
The two recently clashed over West’s decision to have their 11-year-old daughter featured on one of his tracks with disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. The reality star attempted to block his attempt, not wanting their child to have ties to Diddy amid his sexual abuse and sex-trafficking rows, dragging the issue before an LA judge. However, the Heartless rapper wound up releasing the track against her wishes, even demanding an amendment of North’s trademark.
