Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are feuding yet again. This time, it’s over North West. In a since-deleted post on X, the star accused his ex-wife of trying to sabotage his latest song with their 11-year-old daughter. While Kardashian had no problem with their previous music collaborations, she isn’t a fan of their newest one. Why? Well, it features none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs, the disgraced rapper at the center of a huge sex scandal.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Daughter Gets Dragged Into Their Public Drama
The drama started on Saturday, March 15, when Kanye West dropped a new track titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” which features a number of guest artists. Apart from North West, the song includes appearances from Diddy, the rapper’s 26-year-old son Christian “King” Combs, and musician Jasmine Williams.
Diddy begins the project with a voice recording expressing his gratitude toward West for “taking care” of his kids. He claims the rapper has been his only friend who has checked in on his family recently. The message appears to have been recorded amid Diddy’s sex scandal, which includes serious allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and trafficking. However, he doesn’t explicitly mention the accusations in the song. In response, West tells Diddy that he “love[s]” him and is grateful for his music since it basically “raised” him.
Elsewhere in the song, North raps, “When you see me shining, then you see the light.”
Things Are About to Get Ugly
According to Kanye West, the song wasn’t supposed to see the light of day. He posted since-deleted screenshots of a text exchange with Kardashian, revealing the two had argued over North’s involvement. After they failed to reach an agreement, the Skims founder took the issue to court. It seemed she wanted to block West from releasing the track by trademarking their daughter’s name, which only further escalated things between the former couple.
“I’m never speaking with you again,” West told his ex-wife in one of the messages.
Kardashian didn’t understand why West was so upset since he had previously approved of the trademark. According to texts, the pair had agreed Kardashian would own the rights to North’s name until she became a legal adult. “When she’s 18 it goes to her,” Kardashian wrote. The same would go for the rest of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s children.
Unfortunately, the rapper no longer thinks Kardashian’s ownership of the trademark is a good idea. He demanded that his ex-wife “amend” the agreement. If she didn’t comply, he threatened to go to “war” with her. “Neither of us will recover from the public fallout,” he said. “You’re going to have to kill me.”
“Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine” is just one of the songs West has recorded with North over the years. The father-daughter duo have also collaborated on the tracks “Talking / Once Again” and “Bomb” on West and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures 1 and Vultures 2 albums.
