Members of the public from all across the globe have had their interests piqued by the absence of Kate Middleton from the Royal Family. Princess Catherine of Wales was last scene celebrating Christmas with the royal family. Shortly after the new year, we learned that the mom of three had undergone an “abdominal surgery” that she’d be recovering from through Easter. That timeline has raised many eyebrows and left questions about what we’re not being told about the future Queen’s health.
Sources Are Suggesting Kate’s Condition is Being Downplayed
Kate Middleton is one of the most beloved members of the royal family. In recent years, we’ve watched as she’s stepped up in her role through different changes in the family and steeled herself for what’s ahead. England’s next queen is having a tough time overcoming her latest obstacle, however.
Royal biographer Tom Bower’s sources say that Princess Catherine’s surgery was “serious” and that while she will recover, the road there will be difficult.
You’re not being told what the surgery was. As I understand it, it was very serious. I won’t reveal what I have been told it was, but she is seriously ill. It is not fatal. She will recover but it’s a long healing process and that’s why she’s disappeared from view.”

Many speculators have noted that the recovery time was unusually long and have also noted how differently the details of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and treatment have been treated compared to Kate Middleton’s unknown condition.
The Royals Are Struggling to Control the Messaging Around Kate Middleton and More
Bower says that it could take “months rather than weeks” before the royal family is back to business. It’s hard to imagine precisely how long it will take to return to solid footing, however, amid their current crises.
I think Kate’s recovery will be much longer than they originally anticipated. I think the King is clearly taking his cancer treatment very seriously and his invisibility, as well, tells you the tale.”

The questions about Princess Catherine’s health and wellbeing are sure to continue, with her earliest date of return still weeks away. Royals aren’t pleased with the speculation, but it’s unclear if they’ll offer anything else between now and then.
