Vanderpump Rules is in a tough spot again, per star Katie Maloney. The Bravo veteran appeared on an episode of Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe to discuss all things VPR, sharing that she doesn’t know what the future holds for the series. “This group is, like, really fractured … we don’t usually find out about another season until the rest of the world does,” Maloney said, including that she “need[s] to take a breath.”
Katie Maloney’s comments came just before the season 11 finale of Vanderpump Rules and just after Andy Cohen confirmed that the series won’t resume filming until the fall instead of its usual summer production. “Sometimes you want to pick cameras right up quickly, because there’s stuff happening and you want to get in there right away. And sometimes you do want people to live their lives and see how things develop and you know, so, I think it’s a very good idea,” he said on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live of the decision.
Vanderpump Rules Breaks the Fourth Wall
What Katie Maloney had to say about VPR’s status was largely overshadowed by the season finale. In a shocking conclusion, cast member Lala Kent broke the fourth wall, ending the episode with a soliloquy about Ariana Madix. “I have never in my life experienced someone who gets cheated on and suddenly she becomes God,” Kent said. The episode continued with footage of seasons past and more commentary from Kent, who called the series “real” and “healing.”
“There’s a responsibility that comes with living your life on camera. You have to be truthful even when it’s extremely uncomfortable,” Lala Kent said. She continued by claiming that Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix were not truthful about their relationship until its end, and the episode ended with further commentary from Madix and Katie Maloney on boundaries and authenticity. It seems there will be a season 12 of Vanderpump Rules, but who will be part of the cast remains to be seen.
