Katy Perry has broken her Instagram silence amid her recent split from fiance Orlando Bloom. The singer, 40, made headlines last week for the shock news that her nine-year relationship with the actor is over, although she waited a few days to post on social media.
Limiting comments to her share as she shared a gallery of photos and videos shouting out happiness without Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando, Katy appeared to be having plenty of fun, and she didn’t say a word about the breakup news that’s still trending high online. Katy, who was engaged to Orlando for seven years, shares 2020-born daughter Daisy Dove with the Hollywood star. Her fans weren’t really able to air their thoughts, given the restrictions Katy had put into place in the comments. The post netted the pop sensation over 400,000 likes in a day.
Katy Perry Breaks Instagram Silence After Orlando Bloom Split
Acting as if nothing’s going on, Katy opened her gallery with a Quokka while Down Under. Sharing moments from her Australia travels, the “Woman’s World” hitmaker rocked a baseball cap and her hair down for a casual look, continuing the vibe in further snaps and videos.
Including more animal moments, Katy also reposted a TikTok of herself dancing around on a beach while in tight black leggings. Here, the American Idol alum wore sneakers and a quilted jacket, opting out of flaunting her figure. Katy also enjoyed a meal with friends, including a snap of her daughter, and a chocolate Quokka she’d found in a grocery store.
In a caption, she wrote: “Mood: Quokka.” One fan replied: “Miss you,” while another said: “The cutest faces here! We miss you Katy.” The real comments have come elsewhere, though, as fans shade Katy and Orlando’s relationship. May have said that an engagement lasting so long, without marriage, is a recipe for disaster.
Fans Say Seven-Year Engagement Is A Joke
Shortly before the weekend, The Daily Mail reported Katy and Orlando’s romance ending.
Over 2,400 fans agreed when a user replied: “When you’re engaged for 7 years it isn’t happening……..” Katy first met Orlando back in 2016 when the two fought over a burger while attending the Golden Globes. The relationship wasn’t steady, though, including a break in 2017 and somewhat of an on-off vibe.
That said, 2024 brought plenty of family moments as Katy made her music comeback and vacationed in Europe. The paparazzi chased her and Orlando around on beaches, with some photos showing the couple’s daughter.
“We all knew…. girl, after seven years and a kiddo AND that failed girl band space stunt? It’s like Jeopardy, get a clue…..,” another fan replied. Neither Katy nor Orlando has made any official statement regarding their breakup, although they are reported to have been living apart since Katy began her Lifetimes tour in April.
