Katy Perry wasn’t met with the best feedback this week as she updated her Instagram from Paris while chowing down on a larger-than-life croissant. Giving a nod to France’s most famous pastry, the 40-year-old showed off her slimmed-down figure alongside her appetite, but the fan response proved mixed.
Showing the weight loss she flaunted in the above December 2024 photo, Katy proved that she’ll tuck into something rich in butter, but not everyone was feeling her vibe. While the post earned the singer over 400,000 likes overnight, users reacting on The Daily Mail quickly shaded her. One fan even said that she was “trying too hard.”

Looking stylish in a floaty minidress with a white bodice and pops of green on a ruched skirt, Katy flashed her toned legs, drawing the eye to her tiny waist as she opened her gallery posing with a massive croissant.
Cradling the pastry and looking down at it, the “Lifetimes” hitmaker highlighted her teeny waist, wearing her dark hair down as she sported an impeccable face of matte makeup. Getting active in a further slide, Katy was filmed confidently sashaying through a hallway, where she grimaced while taking a bite out of the huge croissant.
Further slides focused on the singer’s glam edge as she posed by a wall while showing off her sleeveless dress and its leggy finish. Katy even flashed her arm tattoo as she wrote: “France I hope our paths croissant again very soon.”
Unimpressed Fans Say She’s ‘Trying Too Hard’
Over 40 fans agreed when one user said: “Her promoter messed up with this shoot.”
A similar number of likes came in for a separate comment, one reading: “Tries too hard.” Katy spent much of the latter part of 2024 getting slammed for her music comeback, with fans deeming her “Woman’s World” video too raunchy and degrading to women. The mom of one has since released her 143 album, but many feel that her comeback, overall, has proven a flop.
Fortunately for Katy, feedback was a little more positive on her Instagram. “Not this girl looking GORGEOUS,” one fan wrote. Katy may have also shocked fans by eating a sweet treat given that she’s spent much of the past year making headlines for her weight loss. The pop star has never mentioned use of weight loss drug Ozempic, although rumors that it’s behind her weight loss remain rampant.
