Katy Perry just shared a major life update regarding her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. After extending her Lifetimes tour earlier this month, the “Woman’s World” singer opened up about her experience preparing for her shows while also balancing her responsibilities as a mother.
Katy Perry’s Daughter Is Growing So Fast
On Friday, Feb. 28, the star sat down with Billboard to discuss her upcoming Lifetimes tour. The trek, which includes 83 dates, will kick off in just a few weeks in Mexico City on April 23. It’ll then conclude seven months later in Madrid on Nov. 11. Since it’ll mark Katy Perry’s first tour in seven years, she was asked how things will be different this time now that she’s a mother.
Perry said she’s excited to bring her family along with her. “This is gonna to be the first time that I’m gonna try this on,” she said about touring as a mother. She confirmed Daisy Dove will join her for a few dates. However, starting in the fall, her daughter will have to stay behind to focus on school.
That’s right. Katy Perry’s daughter has already gotten so big. “She starts kindergarten in September, which is crazy bones,” the singer said. “People are like, ‘Wait, wasn’t she just born?’ Yeah, time flies, and kids are a time stamp.”
Will Daisy Dove Grow Up to Be Just Like Her Famous Mom?
Since Perry doesn’t have much time until Daisy Dove begins kindergarten, it seems she’ll try to spend as much time with her on tour as possible. Although constantly traveling from place to place may not sound ideal for everyone, Perry’s daughter apparently doesn’t mind. The star said Daisy Dove “loves” to watch Perry perform. By the sound of it, she may even follow in her footsteps one day and pursue music, too. “She wants to go on stage,” Perry said.
The singer appreciates her daughter’s enthusiasm. However, she’s very careful when it comes to her involvement since so much goes into putting on a show behind the scenes. From the choreography to different acts, Perry knows it can be overwhelming, especially for a child. “I’m like, ‘No baby. There are so many moving parts,'” she recalls telling her daughter.
Hopefully, Daisy Dove can join Katy Perry on stage properly once she’s older. After all, so many other famous moms have done so with their children. For example, Beyoncé invited her teenage daughter, Blue Ivy, to be a backup danger for her on her 2023 Renaissance world tour. Last February, Pink also performed alongside her daughter, Willow, in Australia as part of her Summer Carnival tour. The pop star also brought the teenager on stage with her during the Democratic National Convention in August. Madonna has also performed with several of her children on her 2023 Celebration tour.
Katy Perry welcomed Daisy Dove, her only child, with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, in August 2020.
