The country singer has allegedly been worrying about the actress reuniting with her former co-star, Ewan McGregor, to make a sequel to their hit film Moulin Rouge. Urban said he had heard the rumors that McGregor was a part of what led to Kidman’s divorce from her first husband, Tom Cruise, and he was not keen on history repeating itself.
According to Radar Online sources, Keith Urban wants to ban Nicole Kidman from an on-screen reunion with Ewan McGregor. The jealous husband is allegedly “insecure” about Kidman’s history of getting close to her male co-stars. However, he also doesn’t want to stand in the way of the project.
An informant reveals that director Baz Luhrmann has been fielding calls about a possible sequel to the film. However, Urban’s hesitation to sign off on Kidman’s involvement is causing a delay.

He doesn’t want to be the one to ruin the fun for Baz and the countless fans of the original film.”
It was previously rumored that Nicole Kidman’s steamy chemistry with Ewan McGregor took a major toll on her marriage to Tom Cruise. Kidman and Cruise eventually divorced after a decade of marriage and the adoption of two children. Meanwhile, Keith Urban allegedly doesn’t want his marriage to end in the same way.
Urban and Kidman began their relationship in 2005. The following year they tied the knot in Sydney (via People Magazine). They later welcomed two daughters together, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. They’ve been through plenty of ups and downs, including the death of their parents, rehab stays, and more. Still, they have remained united.
For his part, McGregor is married to actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The couple has been together since 2017. In 2021, they welcomed a son together. The following year, they got married and blended their family.
There has been no confirmation that Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor will reunite for a Moulin Rouge sequel. However, fans may be thrilled if the rumors are true. Sadly, it looks like Keith Urban won’t be as excited about the project.
