After the moment went viral online, Palmer’s then-boyfriend, Darius Jackson, criticized her outfit choice on Twitter (X), which resulted in a flood of backlash. “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” his post read. Usher’s “Boyfriend” music video begins with Palmer wearing a white robe as she hangs out in her hotel room with a group of friends. The Nope star is sitting down doing her makeup as she mouths the song’s cheeky lyrics. “Somebody said that your boyfriend’s lookin’ for me. Oh, that’s cool, that’s cool. Well, he should know I’m pretty easy to find. Just look for me wherever he sees you,” Usher sings on the track.
Palmer then struts around in a black dress with her friends as they leave their hotel to hit the casinos. Throughout the night, Palmer can’t seem to get Usher off her mind as she starts seeing him everywhere she goes. At one point, Palmer fantasizes about her and Usher dancing in the middle of the casino floor. Usher’s “Boyfriend” music video ends by revealing Palmer’s night was all just a dream. The actress wakes up in her hotel room and mentions that she accidentally missed Usher’s concert. “Sh*t. I’m so tired. I’m a mother after all,” she says while winking at the camera.

Following Usher and Palmer’s viral moment in Las Vegas, Jackson received backlash for shaming Palmer’s decision to wear a sheer black dress to the concert. Jackson defended himself by tweeting,
“We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
Palmer didn’t let Jackson’s comments get to her, however. After he called out her outfit choice, Palmer released “I’m a motha” merch in response to the drama. On Aug. 16, People reported the couple has since broken up. “He’s moved on,” a source told the publication about Jackson. The news comes just six months after the pair welcomed a son together named Leodis Andrellton Jackson.
