Kellie Pickler is saying goodbye to a painful era of her life. The country singer sold her Tennessee home more than a year after the tragic passing of her husband, Kyle Jacobs. It was on the property that Jacobs took his life in February 2023. Pickler first put the property on the market in November 2023, but it underwent a couple of slashes before getting sold to its new owner.
The custom-built home which boasts four bedroom and five bathrooms was sold for $2.3 million. It was initially listed at $2.89 million but the Pickler slashed the price by more than $200,000 by March. Unfortunately, she had to go lower before getting it off her hands. Despite the price slash, the Red High Heels singer still managed to make a good profit. Per TMZ, she bought the house in February 2010 for $1.435 million. Despite it being a site where a death occurred, Tennessee laws don’t mandate that property owners disclose that information.
The American Idol alum lost her husband of 12 years on February 17, 2023. Authorities were called to Pickler’s home on a Friday afternoon after a man, who was later identified as Jacobs, shot himself and died. The Nashville Police Department revealed that he shot himself in an upstairs bedroom of the home.
All About Kellie Pickler’s Husband’s Tragic Death
According to reports, Pickler woke up from sleep moments before the gruesome incident happened. She was reportedly looking for Jacobs when he wasn’t next to her. However, when her and her assistant couldn’t gain access to a room upstairs, they proceeded to call 911. Jacobs was just 49 at the time of his death.
Jacobs’ painful suicide caught the world by surprise because he seemed in good spirits just a day before his demise. In his last social media post, the producer celebrated the success of country music star Lee Brice’s fifth album on which he worked. “Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you Jesus!!!” his last post read.
