A few days ago, couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos finally made their Live! co-hosting debut after a long wait. Sadly, Kelly and Mark’s first Live! received mixed reviews as netizens blasted the couple for various reasons, including “being boring.”

Kelly And Mark’s Co-hosting Debut

On April 14, 2023, Mark took over from Ryan Seacrest as the co-host of Live With Kelly and Ryan’s show. After co-hosting for nearly six years, the television personality left the morning show last week to focus on other endeavors.

Following Ryan’s departure, viewers had hoped Mark would be a great replacement, considering his relationship with Kelly. But unfortunately, the actor’s first day was met with huge backlashes after some viewers felt Kelly kept interrupting Mark.

During the show, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recalled a recent romantic stroll they took together through Central Park. However, as Mark told the audience about the date, his wife of over 25 years quickly cut him off.

“We used to run through the park, but now we’re—” Mark said before Kelly interrupted, “We used to chase each other.” The Law & Order star continued, “We saw some people who we used to run, and they were now also walking.”

But then, Kelly cut in again, saying, “It’s so funny how, I don’t know if it’s age or our knees, whatever it is, time.”

Twitter Users React to the Episode

After Kelly and Mark’s first Live! episode aired, Twitter users flooded the app with tweets, slamming Kelly for interrupting Mark.

One user shared that they were happy to see the couple, but Kelly should have let the co-host talk. “Let him start and finish a story his way…It’s the only way it’s going to work,” they added.

Another user described the episode as “brutal,” adding that it would be the last time they would watch the show. The user also noted that they could go to the mall and watch teenagers “kiss less.”

While some were angry at Kelly’s constant interruption, others were unamused with the couple’s fake banter. One disappointed user even confessed that Kelly and Mark said nothing of substance.

Some viewers also complained that the show almost put them to sleep. But irrespective of the negative comments, some Twitter users enjoyed seeing the power couple on their screens.
