Kelly Ripa can always be relied on to deliver a headline-making Instagram update. In this share, the 52-year-old talk show host shared both a throwback and an up-to-date photo of herself enjoying a family beach day, and not without a winner caption.
Posting for her 3 million+ followers in May, Kelly offered an insight into how the Ripa-Consuelos family hit the beach, with the photo featuring kids Michael, Lola, and Joaquin. Fans also saw a very similar-looking image taken decades ago, when Kelly’s kids were still very young. In her caption, the Live! host joked about objects not always appearing as the size that they are.
Kelly Ripa Hits The Beach…Twice
In her first photo, Kelly shared a shorefront snap of herself sitting on a beach towel and with one of her sons on her lap. Opting out of a glam pose, the former All My Children actress braved being photographed with a slightly unflattering facial expression, although fans still saw her chiseled cheekbones and gorgeous looks as she went makeup-free.
Also near the star were her other two children, although fans didn’t see 22-year-old Lola Consuelos’ face as she wore a lightweight beach dress.
Objects ‘Are Bigger Than They Appear’
A swipe right showed a very similar setup, with Kelly even seen in the same, semi-profile positioning. Here, the bubbly blonde once again had one son on her lap as her brood joined her for a beach day. All three of Kelly’s kids were under five, here.
In a caption, Kelly told fans: “Objects in this recreation photo are bigger than they appear 👀 .” She used a hashtag to give a nod to it being Mother’s Day as fans left over 230,000 likes.
“You did the face perfectly!” one fan replied. Another, meanwhile, said: “Yes!!!! 😂😂😂 love it! ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day to a beautiful and talented mom .”
Kelly is known for peppering her Instagram feed with throwbacks. Likewise, with photos featuring 1996-married husband Mark Consuelos and the couple’s three children. In 2022, and as youngest son Michael was turning 19, Kelly opened up about motherhood and finding herself an empty nester as her kids grow up.
“When you see how tiny he is in his first wrestling tournament, he’s so skinny and so tiny. And I was like, ‘Hopefully this is just a phase.’ But compared to now, it’s just like… I just can’t really explain it to you,” she revealed of her son. Michael is on the wrestling team at the University of Michigan he attends.
