Kena: Bridge of Spirits is officially coming to current and last-generation Xbox consoles along with the release date. The announcement comes from the developers of the game, Ember Lab, and is as official as it gets. The Xbox port was leaked two months ago through an ESRB publication of the game’s age rating.
Not only is Kena: Bridge of Spirits coming to Xbox Series X and S, but it is also coming to the Xbox One with a release date of August 15, 2024. The Xbox port will be accompanied by exclusive content for fans of Team Green, but it mostly consists of cosmetic items. Players on Xbox will get pirate Rot hats, a Golden Rot Skin, and a new staff for Kena to wield.
Other than that, Xbox Series X players will have the option to buy a physical Premium Edition which will come with a digital soundtrack and a sticker sheet, ideal for collectors. According to Ember Lab COO, Josh Grier, the team is thrilled to finally bring the game to a new audience.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits originally came out on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC way back in September 2021. It had a great reception from fans and critics due to its engaging story and unparalleled animation quality. After its successful release, it joined the PlayStation Plus Catalog in April of this year and can be played by anyone who is subscribed to the Extra or Premium tiers.
In Kena: Bridge of Spirits you play as Kena, a Spirit Guide who lets spirits pass onto the next world. We slowly learn about her past, and her goal of locating the secret Mountain Shrine to help trapped spirits. She is accompanied by her adorable-looking, but oddly named, Rot friends who aid her in solving puzzles and moving objects.
