Dogs are widely considered as “Man’s best friend.” Although it would appear that our four-legged companions are not as well-liked by some as they are by most. In a recent TikTok video posted to the account @Avery.jamar, viewers see a heated dispute between two Kentucky neighbors. However, what the argument is about really takes the cake. The video currently has around 43,000 views and 6,000 likes, as social media users watch this older woman’s meltdown over a dog being in a building’s elevator.
The TikTok begins with the man and his small dog already inside the elevator, with the older woman standing outside the door. The dog can be heard barking at the woman as she makes crying noises for some unexplained reason. It is then that another woman steps out of her apartment to see what’s going on. The second woman assessed the situation pretty fast and moved to attempt to defuse the disagreement. It is stated in the video that the woman doesn’t want to enter the elevator with the Kentucky man when his dog is with him.

The TikTok comment section seemed pretty confused regarding the situation, but social media users would let their feelings be known anyway. “Dogs can sense evil,” joked one. “Grace is an angel,” wrote another regarding the younger woman who stepped in. “I hope he showed that to management,” said one other. Finally, another commenter stated, “This is ridiculous.”
As the video goes on, the altercation would steadily begin to escalate. The man in the elevator can also be heard multiple times telling the woman the dog is “Harmless.” However, she would refuse to share the elevator as well as stating, “I don’t like that dog.” After a few more moments of trying to compromise, the Kentucky man had finally had enough. He would then begin poking fun at the woman’s appearance, as well as her personality. The man would call her things along the lines of “Hunchback” among other, more vulgar names.
As the TikTok comes to an end, viewers can see the man go up to the elevator door and force it closed. The video then cuts off as the woman is definitely shocked about what just happened. It is unclear why the Kentucky Karen was so against going in the elevator with the dog. Yet, some online speculate it wasn’t the dog at all, and the woman was, in fact, being racist towards the man. Though at the end of the day, they both went their separate ways, and hopefully, they can both just move on.
