Kentucky Real Estate Broker Has Exhausting Experience at Appointment with Boomer, ‘I Would Have Closed My Door and Left’

I can see why he was annoyed

I’m sure almost everyone has a story or two about a bad experience they had with a boomer. Many individuals agree that boomers sometimes act entitled and even superior to younger generations. This can create a lot of animosity toward them, and with good reason. A real estate broker in Kentucky shared a recent experience he had with a boomer and he was incredibly irritated with the interaction. As he now says, this is the “Last ride of the Boomers!”

They’re a hard bunch to love, the boomers. #genx by the grace of God

Brad (@fhrealbc) is a real estate broker and farmhand who discusses political discussions on TikTok. In his recent video, he talks about his meetup with a boomer who was interested in buying a house. Brad said he doesn’t work most Saturdays but he decided to meet up with the man on his typical day off so he could make a commission. They discussed a time to meet and agreed on 2:30 p.m.

When Brad arrived at 2:25 p.m. for the meeting, he said that the boomer and his wife were already waiting there. The boomer greeted him right away with a “long, awkward, hard, asserting dominance handshake” that all boomers are known for. Before Brad could introduce himself, the man told him, “If you were working for me at XYZ Corporation, you’d be fired.” He went on to tell Brad that somebody was fired at his job for being five minutes late. Brad was a bit stunned because the implication is that he was late to the meeting…but he wasn’t.

The boomer shared with him that he needs to read a book and learn about Lombardi time. Now, I don’t know what that is so I had to do a little research myself. Apparently, Lombardi time is when you’re always 15 minutes early for a meeting. This boomer was so entitled that he actually expected Brad to be early for the meeting, on what was supposed to be his Saturday to himself. Brad laughed and told the boomer that this is why he’s been “self-employed for 23 years. I don’t have a boss; nobody gets to fire me.”

From there, the boomer became even more insufferable to be around. He continuously threw around how rich he is at the meeting. He told Brad he got $660,000 for the recent place he sold, annoying leaning in and adding, “I can buy whatever I want.” Then, he continued to talk about his custom dining room table and other riches he’s obtained within his household. Brad said it felt like he was “trying to hold it over my head like I gave a s**t” the whole conversation.

Commenters shared Brad’s annoyance toward boomers based on their own experiences. One person commented, “I would have closed my car door and left at the beginning. You have more patience than me.” Another person shared, “As a 6’1” GenX woman, who rode horses for decades, I love those ‘impressive’ handshakes. I can, and will, make the dude uncomfortable. It’s always an older dude.”

Others speculated about the boomer’s true intentions with his next house purchase. Somebody said, “I’m going to guess that as soon as he can after buying the house he’s going to take out a mortgage so he can spend every penny before he dies and leave his children with nothing.” The sad fact is, they’re probably right.
