A teenager in Louisville, Kentucky, had his wisdom tooth removed. While the procedure is relatively common, what made this particular instance memorable was the teen’s reaction to the anesthesia, with his own parents describing him as a “newborn baby giraffe” given the way he moved and behaved post-surgery.
The hilarious set of clips was shared on TikTok by user the.samantha.w. She is a lifestyle content creator, sharing her heartwarming experiences with her husband and children.
This time around, it was their teenage son who took the spotlight. As shown in the first clip, the boy is being walked toward their car by the dentist, who, for some reason, was able to exit his office to accompany the Kentucky teen. Chances are, he noticed how the anesthesia hit him, so he didn’t want to risk any chances of him falling to the ground.
“Hey! Look up! Do not look down,” the doctor instructed the teen, whose face made him look like he was in another dimension
With his father’s help, the Kentucky teen managed to get inside the car. He lay down and had the same confused look on his face. The dentist warned his parents that he was going to ask “all kinds of funny questions,” and Samantha said, “Oh, we’re gonna have fun.”
And fun they had, as the teenage boy laughed and pointed at the camera during the trip home, as shown in a follow-up TikTok. His excitement was cut short, though, as his face transformed back to its regular “I’ve just seen a ghost” type of look. His mom was having a blast.
Finally Home, Reactions
Eventually, the family got home, and the teen’s father helped him walk toward the front door. Samantha described her son as someone “walking like a newborn baby Giraffe after surgery.” He struggled to put his foot in front of the other, almost in an attempt to do an impromptu tap dance routine.
Of course, the internet was laughing out loud, mostly at Samantha’s first clip. More than 2,000 users commented, with the TikTok garnering 133,000 views.
“I’m too European for this,” one user said. Another netizen commented, “This is why I ain’t getting my wisdom teeth removed.” A third added, “I’ve never seen the dentist walk the patient out lol.” Meanwhile, a fourth joked, “Was his wisdom teeth removed or did he get a lobotomy??“
Thankfully for the Kentucky teen, he most likely ran out of wisdom teeth to be removed. Too bad, though, as anesthesia trips apparently do wonders on TikTok.
