While we know the anti-abortion movement is still prominent in the country, it’s wild to see it inside certain universities, especially with some people trying to push students not to get an abortion. One of these situations happened at the University of Kentucky, where an anti-abortion campaign took place. However, one student decided to take matters into her own hands and give a rousing speech that criticized everyone in the stand.
Judging by the footage, the anti-abortion campaign took place inside the University of Kentucky. As you can see, there’s a stand with a couple of people who don’t seem like students, and a lot of anti-abortion propaganda, which is pretty wild to see inside a campus.
In any case, since it’s a debate stand, those in charge assume the student approaching them is willing to have a conversation. Instead, the woman grabs the microphone and turns around to give a speech, starting with, “My body, my choice, you hear?” Many of the students around the stand start clapping and cheering on the woman with the microphone.
The one giving the speech continues to say that if people don’t have the means to take care of a baby, they should consider an abortion, which leads to more people agreeing with her. Those in the stand try to talk with the student, but at this point, the woman returns the microphone and says farewell, silencing those in charge of the anti-abortion campaign.
Naturally, many Reddit users expressed their opinions, with most of them agreeing with the student’s actions.
“I want to give this lady an award for this. Smooth.” One user commented.
“Actually, really smart to use their mic and then ignore them and make your own crowd lol.” Another user said.
While abortion has been a sensitive topic for many years, it has become even more sensitive now due to what the current administration is trying to do. Many laws are looking to ban abortions in different states, which is startling to see in 2025. Furthermore, many people believe that having anti-abortion campaigns in universities is bad, as students should be free to choose whatever they want to do without any external influences. Hopefully, this will teach the university a lesson before it tries to bring in another “debate” stand to talk to the students.
