Kevin Spacey has some insightful advice for his L.A. Confidential co-star, Guy Pearce. The actor took to his X page to react to Pearce’s comments on his experience with Spacey on an Oscar-winning movie set in 1997. Spacey admitted he would have handled things differently if he were in Pearce’s shoes and felt offended about the ordeal. The actor noted in his video response that Pearce refused to consider their professional history.
Spacey continued that if he had upset Pearce in any way, it would have helped to communicate directly about it. Instead, Spacey continued that Pearce had chosen to address his concerns with the press, which has led to personal attacks. The actor noted that he is now left with no choice but to respond to Pearce’s statements.
“Grow up, Guy Pearce. You are not a victim,” Spacey wrote in the caption while still condemning Pearce’s approach. The actor also challenged Pearce to come clean about spending time together on movie sets. He wondered why Pearce was comfortable with letting his victim narrative fly. Spacey then apologized for not clearly understanding Pearce’s intentions.
Fans on X React to Kevin Spacey’s Latest Video
The viral video has gained considerable traction and attracted multiple opinions. A fan wondered why people are emboldened to lie against famous figures and attempt to get away with it. Another commenter argued that Spacey was a pawn in a bigger Hollywood cover-up game.
Amid Spacey’s despair, a fan seized the opportunity to praise the actor’s resilience over the years. A fourth commenter assured Spacey of their unwavering support, urging him to keep making “fantastic movies.” Spacey’s rebuttal comes after Pearce made some shocking admission about working with Spacey and the lasting impacts.
As shared by Hollywood Reporter, Pearce recalled being an object of Spacey’s advances on the set of their hit movie. He admitted to being initially dismissive towards the whole thing and brushed it off for five months. Pearce then noted that he was young and susceptible back then, which Spacey took advantage of. “And he targeted me, no question,” Pearce shared in his interview on Scott Feinberg’s podcast.
Kevin Spacey’s Legal Battles Took off With the #Metoo Campaign

Spacey’s nightmares may not be over yet. His downfall, which kick-started in 2017 at the peak of the #MeToo movement, left behind horrors for the actor. We shared that actor Anthony Rapp first accused him around the time of the movement. Rapp’s revelation was not taken with levity by Spacey. The actor denied Rapp’s allegations and officially came out as gay.
His decision still did not pay off, as he was booted off House of Cards and other projects. In subsequent years, the actor still found himself named in over 20 sexual assault allegations. Spacey’s exclusion from jobs also came with financial woes, as he admitted to Piers Morgan in an interview. He revealed that his current home in Baltimore faced foreclosure as he could not pay his bills. Spacey added that he also owed legal fees, but despite his situation, he has avoided bankruptcy.
