Kevin Spacey’s life post his sexual assault controversies doesn’t seem to be going well. The controversial actor recently opened up about how his finances have suffered greatly in the aftermath of the lawsuits levied against him. Spacey broke down in tears while speaking about nearing bankruptcy, but some fans remain convinced he is just putting on a show.
Spacey appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Tuesday, where he candidly discussed his financial woes. In a preview of the interview, the British media personality asked the House of Cards alum, “Where do you live now?” The question had an emotional impact on the celebrated actor,who struggled to regain his composure. Spacey bowed his head while fighting back tears before he answered:
“Well, it’s funny you ask that question because this week, where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on.”

He continued,
“My house is being sold at auction. So, I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage. So the answer to that question is I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now.”

The two-time Oscar winner explained that he has lived in Baltimore for 12 years and in his current house since 2016. When asked why his home is facing foreclosure, Spacey revealed that he hasn’t been able to pay his bills.
When asked if he was facing bankruptcy, Spacey said he “managed” to “dodge it.” However, he doesn’t have any money due to the overwhelming legal bills he has to pay off. “I mean, you have some sense of legal bills. I still owe a lot of legal bills that I have not been able to pay,” he told host Piers Morgan. According to the 64-year-old, he owes “many millions,” but he intends to “get back on the horse.”

Despite Spacey’s emotional breakdown on screen, several fans were convinced he was only pretending. One fan remarked, “Remember, he’s a great actor. I don’t believe him at all. People who sexually assault others have no morals and have a feeling of entitlement.” Another similar comment read, “I don’t feel sorry for him. After watching the documentary about this man, it is no wonder he wasn’t drummed out of the business years ago.” A third fan penned, “Wow – PDiddy and Spacey both sexually assaulted people and want us to feel sorry for them! This is the definition of narcissism!”
Spacey’s legal battles date back to 2017, when he was first accused by actor Anthony Rapp at the height of the #MeToo movement. He denied all allegations and came out as gay, but that didn’t save his career. He was soon killed off on House of Cards and removed from other projects. In the years that followed, Spacey was subjected to more than 20 allegations of sexual assault. However, he was found not guilty of nine counts of alleged sexual assault in July 2023.
Despite being innocent according to the law, Spacey doesn’t seem to be enjoying his freedom.
