Khloe Kardashian is used to sharing her personal life with the world. After several years of appearing on reality television, the Good American founder’s private life has become an open book. Throughout the years, Khloe’s fans have watched her deal with insecurities, family drama, and so much more. However, it’s been her love life that has taken center stage. Now, Kardashian is opening up about her painful splits with both Lamar Odom and Tristan Thompson.
On the latest episode of her podcast, Khloe In Wonderland, the TV personality gets candid about love. Kardashian admitted that she’s been through some very painful breakups in the past, namely with Lamar Odom and Tristan Thompson. Surprisingly, she compared the two’s split, revealing that her divorce with Odom was much more difficult to deal with than her highly-publicized split with Thompson.
“With my first husband, I was younger and I think that was a lot harder for me,” Khloe Kardashian told her guest, Jay Shetty. “But what’s interesting was with each relationship where something bad has happened, I didn’t take it and was like, ‘Whoa is me. I’m this victim,'” she added.
Instead, Khloe revealed that she tried to learn from her divorce from Lamar. She admitted that she found herself not wanting to drag old baggage from former relationships into new partnerships.
Khloe Kardashian Admits Lamar Odom Divorce Was More Difficult Than Tristan Thompson Split
Khloe and Lamar had a whirlwind romance. The couple tied the knot in 2009 after just one month of dating, per ELLE. The duo quickly became a fan-favorite pairing and eventually landed their own reality TV spin-off series. However, Odom’s struggle with substance abuse and his infidelity ultimately led the couple to file for divorce. Before their marriage was officially dissolved, Lamar suffered a near-fatal overdose.
Kardashian called off the divorce and was by Odom’s side as she fought for his life. Through his recovery, Khloe remained a source of support. However, in 2016, she finally got her divorce. After years apart, Khloe and Lamar shared a reunion in front of cameras for the upcoming season of her family’s reality series.
That same year, Khloe began dating NBA player Tristan Thompson. The duo went on to announce a pregnancy. However, just hours before Kardashian gave birth to their first child, daughter True, Thompson was busted cheating.
Khloe and Tristan’s relationship was touch and go after that. They tried to make it work, but when Thompon was embroiled in yet another cheating scandal, Kardashian called it quits. Years later, the pair gave their relationship another shot. They even went as far as to have a child together via surrogate.
Unfortunately, shortly after finding out their surrogate was pregnant, Khloe found out that Tristan had fathered a child with another woman. Despite their rocky romance, Kardashian and Thompson now successfully co-parent their daughter and son, Tatum.
It appears that Khloe Kardashian has learned a lot from her failed relationships. Despite the fact that she deems her divorce from Lamar Odom harder than her split with Tristan Thompson, both appeared to have been very difficult for her. Since her split with Tristan in 2021, Khloe has seemingly remained single. However, she says she still believes in love and wants a fairytale ending.
