On October 6, fans of The Kardashians got a rare flashback into Khloé Kardashian’s 2007 DUI arrest as the reality star disclosed previously-unknown details about the incident, including the story behind her cute mugshot.
While trying out weed gummies with her mom Kris Jenner, the Revenge Body star reflected on the incident which happened over a decade ago. She also finished her account with invaluable advice to fans on how to avoid meeting a similar fate.
Khloé Kardashian Shares Tip To Avoid DUI Arrest
The episode saw the 39-year-old and her mom pop a weed gummy in front of the cameras. Amid their little daring moment, Khloé Kardashian could not help but recall the one time she landed in jail for DUI after consuming a significant level of alcohol. She immediately joked about that moment in her life, promising to take the fall for her mom if they were caught in possession of the cannabis-based substances. According to her, the arrest would not matter anyway since she had already been to jail before. She went on to recount the encounter in a confessional, letting fans know it was a wrong move on her path, saying:
“I went to jail when I was like 22. I went to jail for a DUI. Not smart. Don’t drink and drive.”
After sharing her invaluable advice, Khloé Kardashian responded to her mom’s comment that her mugshot from the 2008 incident was “really cute.” She revealed how she invested time in glamming herself up for the shot, courtesy of her BFF Malika Haqq. According to the Good American founder, Malika did her hair, while she focused on doing her own makeup. The result was the infamous Khloé Kardashian mugshot which made major headlines.
Khloé Has Learned Her Lesson
Despite her fond recollection of the DUI arrest, which saw her spend three hours in jail, Khloé Kardashian made it clear she had no intention of having a repeat. She shared with the cameras,
“I’ve never been to jail since. So I’ve learned my lesson.”
As fans may recall, Khloé Kardashian’s DUI arrest was a major topic during the first season of the family’s reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. At the time, the TV personality told her family she was not drunk during the arrest, and that the test did not show a high percentage.
However, the legal system thought otherwise, as she served punishment for her crimes nonetheless. The court ordered the star to complete community service, and attend alcohol education classes. After failing to attend the class for two consecutive weeks, the court sentenced Khloé to 30 days imprisonment.
Notably, after serving just three hours of her sentence in a Lynwood, California facility, they let her out due to overcrowding. It appears those three hours were enough to set The Kardashians star on the right track, as she has since stayed out of jail, having learned her lesson, which she now intends to pass on.
