Khloe Kardashian‘s daughter True is going into the family business, and that doesn’t seem like a good thing. Khloe recently shared an Instagram post announcing that her six-year-old daughter is the brand new face of Zip N’ Bear, a kids’ pajama line, and of course her mom is so proud. The public, on the other hand? Not so much. Fans have criticized Khloe for pushing her daughter into work at such a young age, and especially in an industry as image-based as modeling. For every comment praising True’s new job, there was a comment chanting for Khloe to let her kid be just that: a kid.
It’s an unfortunate truth that no kid attached to the Kardashians is ever going to be fully anonymous. North West, Kim Kardashian’s daughter, made headlines the day she was born and she’s got her own TikTok, albeit one managed by her mom. Even the adult Kardashians grew up in the spotlight – Khloe herself was only ten when her father caught the public eye by defending O.J. Simpson at his trial. But even if some amount of public attention is inevitable, fans are in agreement that True’s new modeling deal is taking it too far.
A few days ago, Khloe Kardashian – with the help of her six-year-old daughter True – announced that True is going to be the new face of Zip N’ Bear. For those unfamiliar, Zip N’ Bear sells children’s PJs with the added bonus that Zippy the Bear can match your baby or toddler with a bear-sized PJ set of his own. The announcement had True and Zippy wearing matching Unicorn Utopia pajamas, and while a good deal of the comments were focused on how cute True was, there was a large group of comments asking why Khloe was putting her six-year-old to work in the limelight.
“When do you have enough money? Don’t you have enough without pimping out your [six-year-old]?”

To be fair, True looks thrilled about her new job in the announcement video. But then again, it’s hard to say how much of her excitement is for the camera and how much is genuine. It’s also easy to see how this modeling job could be just the first step for Khloe’s daughter, the first job in a lifetime of being scrutinized by the public. The number of child actors and child models who have gone on to suffer breakdowns or dramatic personality shifts is high – just look at Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus, or Jojo Siwa for a more recent example.
So far, Khloe Kardashian hasn’t responded to the backlash that arose after her announcement. It’s unlikely that she’s going to respond at all, much less walk back on her decision – especially since there’s probably some kind of contract involved. We can only hope Khloe’s still trying to protect her daughter even as she steps into the limelight for the first time.
