DC has revealed the final cover art for Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum. This five-issue prequel series sets up Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game. This new series will be released monthly after the video game’s release in February and will provide some interesting backstory to the game’s events. Specifically, it will give fans a look at the new Task Force X assigned to take down a corrupted Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum comes from writer John Layman with art from Jesus Hervas. Aimed towards a mature audience (17+), the monthly series shines a light on how the events in the video game came to be. The game focuses on a new Task Force X team as they try to take down a Brainiac-corrupted Justice League. This prequel comic series focuses on Amanda Waller and her recent acquisition of the rebuilt Arkham Asylum.

Under Waller’s eye, the facility has become more secure than ever before. However, Waller has other plans for the Asylum. The ruthless recruiter opens all the cell doors and lets a free-for-all being in the halls of the cells. When the dust has cleared, those that remain will be part of her new Suicide Squad. Kill Arkham Asylum will show how this deathmatch plays out and lead into the hunt for the Justice League.
