Killer Queen Black Game Pass
This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information.

For those excited to get their hands on Killer Queen Black through Xbox Game Pass, you’re unfortunately going to have to wait just a little bit longer. The hit arcade action platformer was originally scheduled for release on Game Pass tomorrow but has been pushed back to sometime within the next few months. As for reasoning for this choice, team Liquid Bit cited putting the quality of the game over their self-imposed deadlines to deliver the best experience possible. I don’t know about you, but given Cyberpunk’s launch due to not focusing on quality, I can’t say I blame them.

Killer Queen Black Trailer - Xbox Q1 2021

For those unaware of just what Killer Queen Black is, the trailer above should give a good idea. If you’d like more details though, Killer Queen Black is the successor to 2013’s arcade platformer Killer Queen. The game centers around frantic four versus four combat, having you take on the other team’s hive in a wave of carnage. How you choose to do so though is up to you. Do you want to ride a slimy snail all the way to your opponent’s base? Perhaps the economic strategy of grabbing all the berries is more your style? Or maybe slaying the enemy’s queen would be your cup of tea? From game to game, the choice of strategy is up to you. Be careful though, as the wrong strategy can quickly spell defeat for you and your team.

Killer Queen Black has seen some solid success for an indie title of its kind, more than most that’s for sure. As of writing, the game sits at 351 reviews on Steam with 92% being positive. That’s not bad and hopefully spells well for the future of the game. That’s not to mention that, with the release onto Game Pass, you’re getting cross-platform play so you and your friends can end the enemy team’s reign however you see fit.

A lot is going for Killer Queen Black, especially with its Game Pass release, so I hope you check it out once it’s ready. What are your initial impressions? Think you’ll give it a go? Let us know in the comments below!
