Kim Kardashian is no stranger to sporting events. However, it seems the fans of the sports teams are not the biggest supporters of the SKIMS founder. Although there is a reason as to why no fans of any sports teams want the Kardashians around, and that would be due to the Kardashian Curse. The curse is something many sports fans take very seriously. Having a Kardashian date one of the players or just being associated with a team at all, normally ends badly. Now, Kim may have her sights on Los Angeles Dodgers superstar, Shohei Ohtani.
According to Marca, Kim Kardashian has been receiving backlash after showing off her custom Shohei Ohtani jersey. Most Dodgers fans seem to be on the same page, with that being to keep Kardashian away from their team. The mother-of-four took to Instagram to show off her new jersey. This is happening as the L.A. Dodgers are set to open the 2025 MLB season. Ohtani and his teammates will be taking on the Chicago Cubs in the MLB’s Tokyo Series. The official X account for Major League Baseball reportedly also got wind of Kim’s post and shared it on their timeline. This is what had fans in shambles as social media users seem to all agree that “Them boys in trouble.”

Others then quickly flooded the comment section with their own opinions.
“They are going to lose this year now,” said one fan.
“I just threw up,” wrote another.
Finally, another joked that, “Kanye is going to start beefing with Ohtani now.”
However, despite some others making light of the situation, Dodgers fans seem very unhappy that Kim is supporting the team.
This would not be the first time Kim has frightened a Los Angeles team’s fans. Just a few months ago after the groundbreaking Luka Doncic trade, Kim stated that she wanted to meet the Lakers’ new superstar. However, fans quickly shot down the idea, as to try and avoid the Kardashian Curse.
Kim Kardashian most likely wants Luka Doncic and Shohei Ohtani for her SKIMS campaigns. However, it seems as though fans do not want to risk their favorite players or teams falling victim to the curse. While there are some instances where the curse has not taken effect, for example Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson. Thompson still won an NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers despite dating Khloe at the time.
Despite the curse technically only being a theory, there have been cases where an athlete or team completely imploded with the Kardashians around. Ron Artest, Ben Simons, and Devin Booker are three solid examples. Is the Kardashian Curse a real threat, or are superstitious sports fans just overly paranoid? The sports world may never know for sure.
