Kim Kardashian‘s son, Saint West, is just like every other kid. Well, kind of. Similar to others his age, the pre-teen has become obsessed with Labubus. However, unlike other children, he has the means of using his mother’s fame to get them for free. The nine-year-old recently hacked Kardashian’s phone to ask the company behind the viral toys, Pop Mart, for some merch. While some social media users found it funny, others criticized the move since his family can afford to buy them.
Kim Kardashian’s Son Joins the Labubu Craze
After getting hold of Kim Kardashian’s phone, Saint West first decided to plug his YouTube channel to his mother’s millions of followers on Instagram. He shared a screenshot of his handle on her profile and then shared the same photo on her Story, alongside a message asking fans to subscribe to his channel, which mainly consists of Roblox content.
The hacking incident caught the attention of many of Kardashian’s fans, as well as various high-profile accounts. For example, Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller poked fun at what happened by jokingly asking Saint to give Kardashian her phone back. As for Pop Mart, the company decided to take advantage of the opportunity by sending Saint a private message. “Hey Saint, while you still have your moms phone can you reply to her DM’s real fast?” the brand wrote underneath his post.
It’s unclear what Pop Mart wanted to tell Saint. However, it’s likely the company may have been planning to send the nine-year-old some goodies. After seeing Pop Mart’s comment, Saint wrote back requesting free merchandise. He specifically asked for giant Labubus and the ones with rainbow teeth. The normal-sized dolls typically retail for $20-$30. However, according to the Daily Mail, the larger Labubus go for $200-$300 each. Yes, you read that right. The toys can cost hundreds of dollars, and super rare ones can even run for a couple of grand.
Social Media Users Roll Their Eyes
While that’s a hefty price to pay for the majority of people, that’s nothing for Kim Kardashian. Apart from having a long-running reality show with Hulu, Kardashian owns a successful shapewear brand called Skims. According to the Forbes, her brand is worth around $4 billion. Since she can more than afford to get her son the Labubus he wants, some users thought that Saint asking for free merchandise didn’t make sense.
“Ask your mom or grandma… we out here struggling for milk,” one person commented. “Kim’s a billionaire. Why they begging,” another fan wondered. Someone else claimed that the world was so “backwards” since rich kids like Saint can get free merchandise just by asking for it. Meanwhile, other kids are forced to “wish from afar.”
After Saint’s hacking incident went viral online, it appears Kim Kardashian was eventually able to regain control of her account. Saint’s post has since been deleted, and her profile has returned to her regular content.
