There sure is a lot of bad in the world. But, to counter that, there is also a lot of good to be found, especially in your own community. One California woman has dedicated her entire TikTok page to serving the homeless people in her community and making their day just a bit brighter.
However, instead of helping this person with food or shelter, she was able to help him after he’d fallen out of his motorized scooter. What’s even better is that she didn’t do it alone; she was able to gather help from the men in her community to join in and help out.
The video in question was posted to the social media platform TikTok by user @mizz_vanity, a woman who goes by the name Ashley, and posts about helping her local homeless community. Since mid-February, she has posted a video every single day of her helping out a homeless person by giving them food. In this particular video, she came across a man who had no legs and only one arm, who was on the floor beside his electric scooter.
After asking if he needed help, he explained that he had fallen after trying to retrieve a clean towel and couldn’t get back in. Ashley told him to wait while she went and got a man, before actually managing to find someone to help out at a nearby food truck. The two still found the task to be difficult and enlisted the help of a second man to put the homeless man back in his chair.
When the man was finally in a position to get into his chair, he said, “God bless ya’ll, I got a doggone doctor’s appointment, and if I miss this, I’m in trouble.” Finally, the man got into his chair and was able to confirm that he had enough time to go to the doctor before Ashley and one of the men she was with waved him goodbye.
Kind TikToker Helps Homeless Amputee Who Fell From His Scooter in California
Commenters were incredibly kind and applauded the man’s behavior throughout the entire encounter, with one person saying, “One arm. No legs. One arm. Smiling. Grateful. In good spirits. Just let that sink in. God bless him.”
Other people were incredibly appreciative of Ashley’s quick-thinking, with one comment in particular saying, “Thank you for not ignoring him and for not being a bystander.” Far too many people are willing to simply watch as something happens rather than do anything about it, and it’s awesome that Ashley was there right when this man needed her most.
