From what we’ve seen of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, everyone already knows it will be a massive game with a near-endless number of options and dialogues. However, according to the developers, it might have the largest script ever written for a video game. Warhorse Studios took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has a script that spans over 11,000 screenwriting pages which, in terms of word count, comes to around 2.2 million words and also revealed the game length.
If that is true, the studio has truly achieved something ambitious here. For some perspective, the industry-defining GTA 5’s script came around to 3,500 pages, which isn’t anything to scoff at. And compared with a more recent behemoth, Baldur’s Gate 3, which was widely believed to have the largest scope in any RPG, had around 2 million words of dialogue.
For anyone who has played Baldur’s Gate 3, the number Warhorse Studio is claiming will come into perspective. Larian Studios still holds the Guinness World Record for having the longest script in any video game, but it seems that Crown will be switching proverbial heads come February 2025. Once Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is out, the script can officially be verified before giving the game the world record title.
The sequel to 2018’s highly successful Kingdom Come Deliverance is upping the original in every way and picks up where the original left off. You will still be filling the shoes of the same protagonist, albeit more experienced, as you step into a world twice the size of the first game, which, by itself, is impressive.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 promises that the game length when it comes to the main story will be over 50 hours long for an average player, but the rich world has endless side quests to keep players occupied for a long time to come. We will have to wait and see how well the team delivers on these promises until the game comes out on February 11, 2025, on PlayStation 5,
