Game developer KLab announced that it has acquired the rights to make My Hero Academia mobile online games for release worldwide. It received the rights from the series’ production committee. With this announcement, it has also specified that the game will be available in all countries outside of mainland China. The company then went on to say that it is planning to develop several online games that players and the franchise’s fans all over the world can play.
With this announcement, it is not exactly sure what kind of game it will be. KLab’s announcement of a My Hero Academia game did not mention any concrete details. They did say that it intends to “use its know-how cultivated from operating other IP-based games to ensure an enjoyable experience for fans all over the world”. There is also no release timeline for the games. One is expected to be updated soon.
My Hero Academia Mobile Game: A Large Franchise to Back it Up
Horikoshi launched the My Hero Academia manga series in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014. Viz Media currently publishes the manga in English digitally and in print in North America. Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service also publishes the manga in English digitally.
KLab is also known for games such as Love Live! School Idol Festival, Bleach: Brave Souls, and Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team. Currently, the Bleach game has surpassed a million total downloads in the seven years since its release.
The My Hero Academia franchise’s anime adaptation is currently in its 6th season. This season premiered on October 1st and is set to air for two continuous quarter years. Crunchyroll is streaming the new season as it airs in Japan and started streaming the English dub on October 15th.
Currently, the My Hero Academia anime is available to stream on a number of platforms. This includes Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video.
