Konami, the developer of eFootball, has just announced that it has extended its partnership with Manchester United FC once again. This is a continuation of a collaboration that started in 2019, and it means that Konami will remain the official football video game partner of Manchester United FC.

This means that Konami will be able to retain multiple commercial rights including player access, media opportunities, and the use of Manchester United FC branding in the eFootball series. Konami has been happy with the successes in the last 5 years and is looking forward to continuing past successes.

To celebrate the agreement, Konami is giving one lucky fan the opportunity to win 2 tickets to every Manchester United FC game during the 2024-2025 season. To find out more, you can check out the details here.

Naoki Morita, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.โ€™s European President, said that this extension marks the start of a bright future for the series and promised to continue to improve the game in the future. He commented:

It is very exciting to be announcing an extension to such a successful partnership. Manchester United FC is truly one of the giants of world football, we are proud to have them as part of the eFootball series now and for the next few years thanks to this renewal.

To have secured a bright future that will include a multitude of commercial, image, and esports rights and activations is fantastic for Konami and for the eFootball series.

We endeavor to keep evolving our product to bring the best user experience possible.

Florence Lafaye, Commercial Director at Manchester United FC, said:

We are delighted that KONAMI will continue as a key member of our family of partners, and we are excited about the opportunities our involvement with the eFootball series brings. Our long-standing partnership has enabled the club to engage meaningfully with new and younger audiences as well as showcase the Manchester United brand in the digital entertainment world, an important sector for us as we look to the future.

The celebrations arenโ€™t limited to just one winner, as eFootball players can also join in the festivities. There will soon be a new in-game campaign that will celebrate the extension. The event will run from August 15-29 and players will get the chance to get a free Highlight: Bruno Fernandes card, and also obtain three other Manchester United FC player cards, including the Epic: Paul Scholes card.

eFootball is the rebranded version of Konamiโ€™s famous PES series of games. The change was accompanied by the addition of a new game engine, improvements in gameplay, and switching to the much more popular free-to-play model on all platforms. The game has seen explosive growth since the rebranding, with the total number of downloads crossing 750 million internationally.
