Two lovers are joining together to work on a movie together. Kristen Stewart revealed with Interviewmagazine that she is writing an untitled “stoner girl comedy” with her fiancée Dylan Meyer. It was revealed in a conversation with Rachel Sennott (Bodies Bodies Bodies). In their discussion, the Twilight star called it “really f—ing stupid.” She told Sennott that she would “like it.”
This would not be the first time the couple had written a screenplay. Beyond penning this stoner comedy, Kristen Stewart has written the short Come Swim and an episode of Homemade. She also wrote her upcoming directorial debut, The Chronology of Water, which will star Imogen Poots (Outer Range). Meanwhile, her significant other is best known for co-writing Moxie, which was directed by Amy Poehler.
Kristen Stewart Writing a “Stoner Girl Comedy” With Dylan Meyer
The couple have known each other for about a decade. They started dating in 2019 but have, until this point, kept their professional and personal relationship separate since things became romantic. While both have been busy, we can expect to hear more news about what this comedy will entail. Nobody is currently attached to the project as the Oscar-nominated star kept details short on what she and her fiancée are working on.
Based on what is happening with The Chronology of Water, we may have a hint at the scale of the stoner comedy Kristen Stewart is writing. When speaking with Sennott, she said she will not be making “a movie for more than $5 million.” Her adaption of the Lidia Yuknavitch novel will be kept on the low side of a budget, and anything else she helms as it gives her an “uncomfortable” feeling, and those films “usually suck” that get a bigger budget.
The star’s directorial debut and upcoming comedy have no release dates.
