Kylie Jenner is no stranger to hateful comments, given her status as one of social media’s most followed personalities. However, like many other celebrities, the socialite isn’t immune to the effects of these negative comments. Months after fans criticized Kylie Jenner’s appearance, the mom of two opened up about how the mean-spirited remarks affected her. “It’s a miracle that I still have confidence, and I could still look in the mirror and think that I’m pretty,” she told her sister, Kendall Jenner, in a recent episode of The Kardashians.
Kylie responded to the comments about her appearance in photos of her from the Parish Fashion Week. The pictures, which went viral in January, showed the reality star not wearing much makeup. Hence, the “weird light” made the laugh lines on her cheeks prominent. After the photos went viral, many fans claimed Kylie messed up her face with excessive fillers and surgery. A plastic surgeon even suggested that Kylie Jenner’s appearance in the snaps resulted from injections and fillers. However, in her emotional chat with Kendall, the 26-year-old revealed the lines had been there since she was a teenager.
“You can look at pictures of me since I’m 13. I just have these lines, but I’ve had them since I was a child,” she said. Kylie further expressed her feelings about people’s comments. “I’ll see some comments where some people will be like, ‘This is really mean,’ and defend me, like, ‘Why are we talking about her looks? It’s 2024,’ and then I’ll see other comments that are like, ‘Because she did it to herself, she fucked up her face. Even if I did get so much surgery and I got all these things, I still don’t think it’s OK to talk about someone’s looks,” she noted. Overall, Kylie Jenner admitted the mean comments were very “hurtful.” However, she had grown tough skin and learned to rise above the hate.
