LA Woman Regrets $3000 Rent After Waking Up to Sinister Man in the Neighborhood: ‘When the Zombie Movies Become Reality’

Never alone, sort of

Los Angeles, California, also known as the City of Angels, has earned quite a reputation over the years for its rather expensive cost of living. One woman who lives in the area even pays $3,000 per month, but sadly, it appears what she’s paying for doesn’t reflect quality, after a scary midnight scene left her both horrified and perhaps even regretful moving into the neighborhood.

TikTok user and LA local michseydel, aka Michelle, is the woman in question, and she recently took to social media to post a problem she’s having with her current Venice Beach neighborhood. Michelle got disturbed one midnight in LA by a random man outside of her house, shouting what can be heard as threats such as “die” and guttural sounds. It’s not clear whether the man was Michelle’s neighbor or was just passing through:

it’s also midnight 🥰 #losangeles #venicebeach #laproblems #ilovela

On top of implying regret, Michelle also captioned her video “This is what 3K a month in LA sounds like right now.” Michelle’s current neighborhood costs more than average, as rent in LA usually runs around $2,800, which was already 33 percent higher than the national average. Of course, there are safer neighborhoods, but those would be too luxurious and priced as such.

Viewers of Michelle’s recent video have since recalled similar situations in their rather costly neighborhoods, “As somebody who grew up in Venice, it’s kind of always been like that, the only reason those apartments are 3 k is because of snapchats attempt to turn Venice into silicon beach.” Some of the bolder renters have offered a direct solution, however, “I love in La too I I legit just scream to stfu and they usually do.”

People online are comparing the situation to a zombie apocalypse

Some commenters have wondered why exactly the TikTok user still chooses to live in the area despite the midnight show, “Wild that midnight noise costs $3k/month. makes you wonder about the ROI on city living.” Venice Beach, however, remains popular for renters who want easy access to beach views and seaside spots, which explains the rent cost.

In any case, Michelle’s clip has since gone viral, especially outside of TikTok, where people online have pointed out the absurdities of paying such a high rent but still living in dangerous neighborhoods.“When the Zombie movies become reality,” jokes an X user, with another sharing a similar sentiment, “Is this, Dead island sequel?”

For many who have lived in the same area for years or even decades, it’s something that they got used to, “Sirens and screaming is my white noise after living in the city for 3 years 🤣”
