Speaking to TMZ, a source close to the retired athlete confirmed the two were not dating, but simply knew each other and had a friendly dynamic.
The source also revealed that Lamar, who finalized his divorce fromย The Kardashiansย star Khloรจ Kardashian in 2016, was single and not dating anyone. The revelation squashed dating rumors that have flooded the media since Daniiellรจ Alexis shared a photo of her and Lamar Odom, seemingly cozying up to each other.

Sources also shared details of Daniiellรจ Alexis and Lamar Odom’s history, further confirming the nature of their relationship. According to sources, the duo met each other in June, when the former Lakers star visited Los Angeles for the BET Awards. The 42-year-old was reportedly out shopping when Daniiellรจ’s car pulled up in front of him. The trans-actress then approached him and asked for a photo.
After the encounter, the twosome exchanged numbers and have since kept in touch, with their related careers serving as common grounds. Following Lamar’s recent move to LA, the friends met up again and grabbed lunch together, immortalizing their shared moments in photos.
Daniiellรจ Alexis shared some of those photos on Instagram, which many mistook for confirmation that she and Lamar Odom were dating.

“It was hard for me to watch that. It’s always going to be hard for me to watch someone I love so much sad like that.”
