It was just another exciting day as an influencer when nearly three dozen had to be rescued from a sinking yacht. The yacht started taking on water just off the coast of Florida, near an island. However, despite the scary situation, the influencers didn’t seemed concerned. Instead, they laughed and took videos of the event unfolding. It goes to show that influencers may not always live on the same planet as your everyday individual. Something tells me they would’ve recorded themselves had they been on the Titanic.
The 63-foot Lamborghini yacht started to take on water off the coast of Miami Beach near Flagler Monument Island. The U.S. Coast Guard was immediately notified and showed up to start the rescue but what they found was a less-than-ordinary experience. The footage showed several people laughing and taking photos and videos as they were being rescued. It also proved life for these 32 rescued influencers was more of an adventure rather than a disaster.
In the clip, you can hear somebody shouting, “Women and children first, women and children!” to which one woman laughed and said, “It’s giving Titanic.” It was certainly a scene that you don’t witness on any normal given day, more so when you consider that a Lamborghini Tecnomar costs an astounding million dollars brand new.
Though it was not made immediately clear what caused the yacht to begin sinking, it was seen sinking vertically. One witness on-scene said, “Something in the distance, it appeared at an angle, and the closer we get, you could tell it was a big boat.” Commercial salvage crews are still working on retrieving the yacht from the water, though the influencers on board were quickly brought to safety without any injuries.
Social media comments hilariously pointed out that not one person on the yacht seemed to be taking the situation seriously. One commenter said, “No f**ks given. Everyone on the sinking yacht taking selfies.” One thing is for certain: The Coast Guard definitely had an interesting day in the books. It’s not every day that you become part of an influencer rescue, and likely end up all over social media because of it.
