Who said LAN Parties were dead? Live event company Dziobak Larp Studios has announced the most ambitious LAN Party that’s ever been attempted.
In collaboration with developers Paradox Interactive, the company will host a 32 nation grand campaign game of Europa Universalis IV. The event will last over 5 days, taking place at Poland’s historic Castle Czocha. Hardware, software, and liveried servants are set to be provided by the organizers. Sleeping arrangements for the participants have been taken care of as well, as they will live, eat, and sleep at the castle, which also operates as a comfortable hotel.
Each of the 32 nations represented will be represented by a three-person team in the campaign. Participants will be allowed the opportunity to take breaks during specific portions of the game as well.
The biggest LAN Party ever wouldn’t be so if it didn’t have esteemed guests as well. Drew Durnil, well known for his Civilization let’s plays, and Arumba will be on hand for the event, as well as members of the EU IV development team from Paradox Interactive.
Europa Universalis IV is best known for the plotting, scheming, intimidation and alliance forming, all with the goal of reaching a diplomatic solution. Now, the three man teams can do all those things in the shadowy corners of Castle Czocha’s grand halls, all with the hope of victory.
The experience will also feature an extensive entertainment program with seminars and workshops on history, statesmanship and the art of war.
While the Grandest LAN Party ever is an international event, the entirety of the campaign and event will be played in English.
The event takes place from Oct 4th – October 8th. For more information, head over to the events official site www.eu4lanparty.com. As of writing this, there are only 25 tickets left for purchase.
