Usually, it is not a good idea to get into situations that do not concern us. However, sometimes things escalate to the point where someone needs to do something before they get out of hand. One example of this happened recently in Las Vegas, Nevada, where a man was physically abusing a woman outside of a hotel. Thankfully, someone decided to record the whole situation to protect the woman and expose the abusive person.
According to the video, this event took place near the stadium in Las Vegas, where we can see a woman trying to escape from her abuser. The one filming says he decided to step in after watching the man beat the woman. He continues to say that, even if the lady didn’t ask for help, she was clearly running away from the violent man. The person with the camera tells the woman, “Please, go inside.” But she ignores him and continues to walk outside the hotel while the beater pursues her. After a while, the two of them claim they are a couple, a husband and wife, and that they are going through a hard time.
While the one filming tries to deescalate the situation and seems to succeed at doing so, we can also see that the woman is refusing to get help. The abuser starts scrolling on his phone before approaching the person with the camera and making strange noises with his mouth. Sadly, this is where the video ends, but it seems this person was at least able to protect the woman from further harm.
Many people agree that the one who recorded the whole thing acted heroically. However, a few others believe that getting involved in people’s issues can often lead to undesirable outcomes, especially for those trying to help.
“I don’t get involved in sh*t these days. Takes one pissed off person pulling out a gun or knife to change your life forever,” said one Reddit user.
Others decided to take a shot at the violent man, citing that he falls into the stereotype of the abusive man just by his looks.
“Why is it always a d**chebag with an ugly button up,” said another user.
In any case, it is sad to see these situations happen, especially in public. While the couple, especially the man, tried to argue that it was no one’s concern, once it is out in the open, it is everyone’s business. Even if the woman didn’t escape or look for help, the one behind the camera saved her that night. We can only hope that she gets out of that relationship as soon as possible.
