The actual trial for Sean “Diddy” Combs won’t start until May 12, but it appears the celebrity rapper’s defense team is already facing a hitch in its plan. A lawyer who’s related to Diddy’s legal defense team has relayed a controversial statement in a recent podcast, calling Diddy’s prosecutors a “six-pack of white women.” The remark has landed Diddy’s lawyer in hot water.
The lawyer in question is none other than Mark Geragos, and he was also the co-host of 2 Angry Men, alongside TMZ’s Harvey Levin. The podcast, which went live on May 3, sees Levin exposing everything he knew about Diddy and his pending cases. Meanwhile, Geragos is also there to provide commentary and a transcript of a recent talk he had with District Judge Arun Subramanian for the Diddy case. Here’s the full video.
Turns out Judge Subramanian heard what Attorney Geragos has been saying in his 2 Angry Men podcast, where he called Diddy’s prosecutors a “six-pack of white women.”
“I think this is ridiculous. I think referring to the prosecution in this case as a six-pack of white women is outrageous. … This would not be tolerated in any court from any lawyer anywhere across the nation… You have one more listener for your podcast,” warned Judge Subramanian, thanks to NBC for the transcript.
Geragos, on the other hand, seemed unfazed by Subramanian’s scolding and merely replied to the judge that “As long as you subscribe, I’m all for it.” Geragos also implied that Diddy was being targeted for his skin color and racial reasons, which is why he pointed out that the prosecution was comprised of white women.
Again, the trial won’t start until May 12, but as of now, the jury is being selected. Still, one of the female prosecutors whom Geragos referred to worries that the attorney’s statement about them could infect the jury’s decisions.
Who is Attorney Mark Geragos
Technically, Attorney Mark Geragos is not an official part of Sean Combs’ legal team, but his daughter, Teny Geragos, is a key member. Mark Geragos also revealed to District Judge Arun Subramanian that while he doesn’t officially represent Diddy, he frequently talks with the accused celebrity and also represents Diddy’s mother in a separate case.
In the past, Attorney Mark Geragos has also represented highly controversial celebrity clients such as O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown. Mark Geragos has certainly known Sean Combs for years and is no stranger to helping celebrities with difficult accusations.
Even so, many people online were puzzled by Mark Geragos’ remarks and reply to the District Judge, stating that what the attorney said won’t exactly leave a good impression on the jury, who might have already heard the podcast. Mark Geragos is not officially a part of Diddy’s legal defense, so it’s not as if the stakes are high for him. The same couldn’t be said for his daughter, however.
“That language is sure to win over any jury, right ? Diddy is going to get f***ed and not in the way he’s accustomed,” suggests Redditor Deckard2022
“This comment is not a good look for the defense lmao. Jury members definitely heard it,” says Redditor ohlookahipster
“Maybe Diddy was just trying to make an uber eats order,” jokes Redditor Mindthegaptooth
