LeBron James is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. With four NBA championship rings as well as four Finals MVP trophies, LBJ has earned his nickname “The King.” However, on top of being a fantastic basketball player, LeBron is also a celebrity. Recently, James announced to millions of his fans around the world that he would be taking a break from social media. James is known for doing “zero dark thirty” before the NBA playoffs, but this is still very early in the season to take that break.
The Daily Mail reports that LeBron James has been facing a lot of noise lately. This is primarily due to his son Bronny James entering the NBA. However, the NBA star’s past association with Sean Diddy Combs has also played a part. While James is not being investigated by police, just having his name used in the same sentence as Diddy is not a good look. However, some fans seem to believe that those are not the reasons why LBJ got off the internet. Some think, “His ego is too big.”
Those same fans then flooded the comment section of the article to voice their opinions.
“He’s on that Diddy list,” one said.
“He can’t handle the Bronny criticism,” wrote another.
“His ego is too big to quit social media,” said one fan.
Finally, another asked, “Did his little feelings get hurt?“
It seems most fans do not care that Bron hopped off social media.
LeBron James Gets off Social Media After Drama With Bronny James and Diddy
Bronny James was recently drafted into the NBA by the Los Angeles Lakers. It was there that he and his father, LeBron, became the first father-son duo to play an NBA game on the same team. However, James Jr. has struggled with his play on the court since his college days. Many believed that he should have never been drafted. Bronny was recently sent to the NBA G League so the young man can work on his game.
LeBron James has defended his son from many harsh comments by fans as well as sports analysts. However, now that Bronny is out of the public eye, LeBron James will no longer need to defend him as much on social media. Realistically, it may be the perfect time for The King to take a break from the internet.
Between trying to take the Lakers to another championship and defending Bronny James from the haters, LeBron James has had his work cut out for him this season. James most likely does not have a lot of time left in the NBA. However, he is still as dominant as ever. Quitting social media for a while to focus on what could be one of his last seasons in the NBA seems like a great move from the basketball legend.
