Nintendo’s live stream event for all things Switch had some pretty exciting reveals and surprises. Not only was the system’s price point and release date established (March 3rd gives you plenty of time to start saving up that $299), they announced the releases of some pretty cool games. Games like Super Mario Odessey and Splatoon 2 were announced while some rumors were put to rest. Elder Scrolls fans rejoiced at the opportunity to take Skyrim on the go as Todd Howard announced that it would indeed be available on Nintendo’s Switch. What could be more exciting than the news mentioned above? Nintendo also announced which title would be released with its system on March 3rd, 2017, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild made the cut.
The newest addition to the Legend of Zelda series has been constantly making headlines since its official announcement at E3 this past summer. Whether Nintendo released teaser trailers, new concept art, or even screenshots of the game, fans are constantly looking for their Zelda fix. Saving it for the very end, Nintendo released another beautiful, new trailer for its launch title.

The trailer features some moments that fans of the series, new and old, will truly appreciate. The moments shown between Link and Zelda are touching and heartbreaking, and it looks like the game will actually feature some voice acting. As we have seen from earlier trailers, this isn’t the only thing setting Breath of the Wild apart from its predecessors. The game will offer an open world experience where Link can cook, hunt, and enjoy beating some baddies. Aside from all of this, the trailer is full of stunning visuals full of color and life.
Those of you who aren’t quite so willing to jump on the Switch bandwagon; don’t fret. Breath of the Wild will also be available on the Wii U on March 3rd as well. The game is also compatible with the Link Wolf amiibo previously released with Twilight Princess HD, however, the amiibo will be available individually beginning February 3rd.
3 versions of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be available upon its release on March 3rd: standard, special and master. The special edition will include all sorts of goodies like a soundtrack, collectibles, and a carrying case! The master edition, if you have $130 to spend, will include all of the above plus a master sword figurine.
After years of waiting, we are finally getting the Switch and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild much sooner than we anticipated, like in 48 days! Nintendo is coming out of the gates strong with its launch title and let’s hope this is only a sign of things to come for the rest of Nintendo’s lineup this year.
