It might be hard to believe, especially in a year packed with some of the most-awaited game releases, but if there is one title that every single gamer out there wants to play, it is LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. There’s a good reason behind everyone wanting to don the blocky mask of the vigilante, though. Legacy of the Dark Knight is already looking like one of the most faithful titles featuring the Caped Crusader, as well as the evolution of what many remember from previous Arkham games. And to build up more hype, Warner Bros. Games has unveiled the launch trailer, showing us just a glimpse of what we’ll experience as Gotham City’s protector. It also features the ’90s classic “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal, in an immaculate marriage of nostalgia and hype.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Premieres Its Launch Trailer

LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight – Official Launch Trailer

If you haven’t watched it, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has finally unveiled its launch trailer, just a couple of days before its official release date. While we’ve seen some developer spotlights talking about combat, Gotham City, and the Batcave, this trailer is all about building hype, and it does so spectacularly.

Among the many scenes in the trailer, several come from classic Batman films and The Dark Knight trilogy, and all feature the iconic LEGO humor. However, some players with keen eyes have already observed some new combat segments with different characters, such as Robin, Nightwing, and even Batgirl. And yes, we also got a quick look at the split-screen co-op gameplay, which is something almost mandatory in every LEGO title.

The truth is that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is one of the most ambitious LEGO titles we’ve seen in recent memory, and one that will certainly raise the bar extremely high due to the many systems it includes in one game. All that remains to do now is wait for its imminent launch, which is right around the corner.

Remember that you can play the game early if you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, which grants early access starting on May 19, three days ahead of its official launch on May 22. Furthermore, this edition includes several cosmetics, such as the iconic Arkham and Batman Beyond outfits. And for those already looking forward to extra playable content, the Mayhem Pack will give you a Story Mission and Mayhem Mode featuring Gotham’s most chaotic duo, the Joker and Harley Quinn.
