It wasn’t long ago that Lethal Company took the indie horror scene by storm, but we’re already approaching the game’s Version 45 update. According to a recent Tweet from developer Zeekerss, the next big release is right around the corner. The announcement on November 24th said the new version of the game would probably be “coming sometime next week.” That means a release sometime in the next few days is likely if that announcement holds true. Even though we have a better idea of when Verison 45 might be coming, there’s still one big question that remains unanswered: What will Update 45 of Lethal Company bring to the game?

Lethal Company pits up to 4 friends against a greedy Company, hostile moons, and even more hostile monsters. Thankfully, the game itself is far more welcoming despite being in early access. The game is already in great shape, but there’s a lot more that the developer could add and improve on.

That appears to be the aim of Lethal Company‘s Update 45. Version 40 went far beyond mere bug fixes, adding Radar Boosters, Baboon Hawks, the Inverse Teleporter, lobby changes, and other QoL improvements. Though we don’t know what’s planned for Version 45, there’s good reason to suspect it will contain a similar batch of improvements.

Despite the game being in early access, Lethal Company is well on its way to becoming the infinitely replayable forever game that most developers only dream of. Its randomized dungeons, monsters, and scrap placement ensure there are always new surprises. New enemies are one of the most likely additions.

That’s great news since they’re arguably the most important part of keeping this horror game genuinely scary. Whether the new update brings us fan-requested features like arachnophobia mode, new moons, new weapons for fighting back against Eyeless Dogs and other horrifying creatures, or something else remains to be seen. Thankfully, it sounds like fans won’t have long to wait.
