A hotel staff is sharing their thought about the circumstances surrounding Liam Payne‘s death after jumping off the balcony of his hotel room. The former One Direction bandmate passed away on Wednesday, October 16, while vacationing at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Notably, the singer arrived in the South American nation two weeks earlier to attend his former bandmate Nial Horan’s gig in Argentina alongside his girlfriend Kate Cassidy. The two enjoyed an extended stay at the hotel before Kate left the country for Florida two days prior.
While Liam Payne’s hotel room no doubt had the perfect ambiance for a romantic vacation, hotel staff has revealed the downsides of the mini haven. One hotel employee admitted to police officers they were concerned the room had a balcony that would be easy to fall over per TMZ. A Look Into Argentina Hotel Reveals “Dangerous” Balcony
The snaps featuring an identical suite in the same hotel captured a large master bedroom with a large bed and a sliding glass door leading out to the massive balcony. The balcony has a coffee table setup overlooking the underlying buildings. Additionally, the attached railing seemed about 4 feet high, with only a glass panel serving as the base. Its extremely low height and transparent features made it “dangerously easy for someone of Liam’s height” to fall over either accidentally or otherwise, per TMZ.
In Liam’s case, a law enforcement official revealed Liam Payne jumped from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room, resulting in his death. A preliminary autopsy confirmed the late star died from both internal and external hemorrhage sustained due to the fall’s impact. While the reason behind his apparent suicide remains unclear, the CasaSur Palermo hotel management disclosed that the singer acted erratically earlier in the day, destroying several items in his hotel room.
His actions prompted them to call 911. The emergency call made by an employee at the hotel reported a guest acting out under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The employee claimed they found the behavior concerning because they had been unable to enter his hotel room for days. Sadly, things took a more tragic turn before authorities arrived, and Liam Payne was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations into his demise remain ongoing.
