The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots in the recent Super Bowl 2026, but not all eyes were on the field at Levi’s Stadium. A group of anti-ICE protesters was caught on camera distributing custom towels in Santa Clara, California, just before the big game, and they carried a powerful message against recent immigration policies enacted by the United States government.
In a viral video, a man can be seen distributing custom towels outside Levi’s Stadium just before the game. The towels are handed out for free to anyone passing through the parking lot and feature the phrase “ICE OUT” on one side, along with a drawing of a bunny mascot kicking a football inside an ice cube. While handing out the items, the man can be heard saying, “ICE out of California, and out of the Super Bowl.”
The man seen in the footage was only one of several volunteers distributing the towels just before Super Bowl 2026. The items are part of an initiative called “Contra ICE,” a collective of musicians and artists who have united to protest immigration enforcement, citing what they describe as inhumane treatment of communities in California and across the United States. The images featured on the towel were created by Lalo Alcaraz, one of the initiative’s co-founders.
Super Bowl Fans Approve Anti-ICE Towels
People online have mostly approved of this initiative, saying that there were “some patriots in and off the field” at the recent Super Bowl, and that “not all heroes wear capes.” One user in the Reddit comments even said they attended the game, received one of the towels, and shared it on social media to help spread the message.
Others talked about the historic moment people are living through in America, saying that these were “premium towels, with a premium message, likely to be in a museum one day,” and that one day these items will be a “display of today’s atrocities under Trump.”
Hopefully, America will be living through more peaceful times during the next Super Bowl, but for now, at least, it seems that people in California are united against what they see as widespread legal violations by immigration agencies such as ICE.
