The six-year-long wait for Yakuza fans is finally over, with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name scheduled to release this fall. After faking his death in Yakuza 6, Kazuma Kiryu will make his anticipated return under the alias codename “Joryu.” Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the Ishin! remake were indeed excellent distractions from the engaging story where the sixth main installment left off. However, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will finally give Kiryu the spotlight again in The Man Who Erased His Name.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be released on multiple platforms on November 9, 2023. As for writing, Yakuza fans can preorder the game for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC for both Steam and Windows. The incentive for preordered purchases is the Legendary Fighter Pack, featuring Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, and Daigo Dojima. These three can be unlocked via a combat challenge in-game.

Unlike Yakuza: Like a Dragon, The Man Who Erased His Name will feature hack-and-slash, beat-em-up combat. Whether you’ve been a long-time fan or only heard of Kiryu from the “Dame Da Ne” meme, this long-awaited sequel isn’t something you’ll want to miss. Featuring “bone-shattering combat” in a literal sense, players can switch between different fighting styles to beat their foes into submission. The Yakuza style offers an aggressive, unhinged approach with over-the-top attacks, while the Agent style grants you access to deadly gadgets to take down enemies.

Players can enjoy enticing visuals while exploring the striking scenery of both Sotenbori and Yokohama. While you can focus on the main story, there’s plenty of side content to delve into, like singing karaoke, clubbing, and even pocket circuit racing. RGG Studio rarely misses a beat with its releases. Accordingly, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience for fans, new and old.
