Lisa Kudrow is said to have a theory on the tragic passing of Friends costar Matthew Perry. The actress has now joined the five remaining cast members of the sitcom to release an official tribute to Perry. However, she made headlines shortly before this. Matthew died on October 28 at the age of 54 after drowning in his hot tub while at his California home.
According to a source, Lisa is said to be wondering if Matthew was taking medication that “didn’t mix with warm water.” The actor, who had been open about his long-term mental health and substance abuse issues, still has his autopsy report pending. That said, law enforcement arrived at his home following his being found unresponsive and stated no drugs were found on the premises. Likewise, no “foul play.”
Lisa Kudrow Has Thoughts About Matthew Perry
Per Yahoo, a source close to Lisa claims she thinks:
“Although no one wants to believe it was medication – prescribed or not – of course that is a thought in their minds. They are thinking he must have taken something that did not mix with the warm water.”
Matthew died following a two-hour game of pickleball, after which he sent his assistant out to run an errand. They returned to find Matthew unresponsive in his hot tub.
‘Friends’ Cast Issues Statement
Earlier this week, the Friends cast broke their silence as they marked Matthew’s loss.
Together, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer stated:
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.”
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” they said, continuing: “In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Tributes have also been paid by stars, including former costar Salma Hayek, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and Friends guest star Hank Azaria. Matthew starred in the hit TV series from 1994 until its 2004 end.
Of his passing, CNN states:
“A bystander had brought the man’s head above the water and gotten him to the edge, then Firefighters removed him from the water upon their arrival.”
